Flexible working now rated as highly valued staff benefit fuels demand for workforce management solution

hfx, a leading provider of flexible working systems, has announced a record year for new customers who have chosen its solution to support flexible working policies for staff. During 2015 hfx signed up many new clients across the UK who have implemented its flagship solution, Etarmis. Customers include the National Oceanography Centre and many councils, including Renfrewshire Council, South Gloucestershire and Mid Devon, North Devon, Midlothian and Spelthorne Council, Isle of Anglesey and Isle of Man as well as the Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology.

The adoption of the hfx system enables authorities like Renfrewshire VJB (Valuation Joint Board) to meet the Government’s flexible working legislation (June 2014). The organisation supports flexible working practices and provides management teams with accurate staff absence data, including business absence, sickness, training and holidays. Renfrewshire VJB uses the staff entry card to control access to the building, to meet Public Sector Network (PSN) requirements to monitor access to secure areas and data.

Mid Devon District Council is using the hfx solution for time recording, absence analysis and planning. Mid Devon’s management has a complete picture of workplace staffing levels, enabling them to plan scenarios and ensure sufficient resourcing levels for vital council services.

As well as the modules to manage absence for sickness, time off in lieu and permitted building/site access, hfx’s latest version of Etarmis incorporates Etarmis Mobile, a new app that allows staff to view working hours status from their smartphone.

Alex Boa, Sales Director at hfx said; “Organisations today are recognising the benefits of flexible working to both staff and the organisation, viewing it as a highly valued benefit to attract and retain employees. hfx’s solution can support a wide variety of work patterns and the complexities of managing a flexible and mobile workforce. It enables an organisation to support a more diverse workforce and helps to administer the Shared Parental Leave (SPL) policy, now an obligatory entitlement. Research has proven that flexible working increases productivity, enabling staff to maintain a healthy work/life balance.”

hfx’s Etarmis integrates with all the mainstream HR systems (including Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, Northgate and Software for People), enabling organisations to manage flexible working, while keeping employee data synchronised across HR and payroll systems.
