New partnership meets increased demand for cyber technologies and vulnerability specialists

Secunia, a global supplier of Software Vulnerability Management products and services, has signed a partnership agreement with Bytes Security Partnership (SP), the network security specialist arm within the Bytes Group. The Secunia product set provides Bytes SP with a solution to meet the vulnerability management requirements of its customers, through application and operating system patching. Bytes SP specialises in providing solutions and consultancy in security products and technologies, and will be an authorised reseller for Secunia’s VIM vulnerability management and CSI patch management.

John Gilbertson, Managing Director at Bytes Security Partnership said; “This new agreement with Secunia means that we are now able to support customers who have an increasing awareness of the now much publicised area of vulnerabilities. Secunia’s expertise and products are a perfect fit in our portfolio to meet this need and complementary to the other core technologies that we deliver.”

Vulnerabilities are a root cause of security issues – an error in software that can work as an entry point for hackers and can be exploited to gain access to IT systems.  IT teams have the challenge to maintain a complete overview of all applications on all devices in and connected to their infrastructure. They have to correlate this inventory with intelligence about new vulnerabilities, solution status and patch availability for those applications. Vulnerability management and patch management tools are essential to stay on top of this, and increasingly, an important part of the solutions that Bytes SP delivers to customers.

David Rawle, Technical Director at Bytes Security Partnership added; “We offer a wide range of connectivity, security, communications and compliance solutions and don’t provide off the shelf products, but consult with clients to understand their current and future security needs and business objectives. We have an excellent track record of looking at customer’s security infrastructures and recommending appropriate technologies. Secunia’s solutions are the right choice to help customers with those security issues.”

Victoria Bentham, UK and Ireland Regional Director at Secunia added; “The market for security products has seen steady growth in the last few years as customers have become aware of vulnerabilities and what they need to do to protect their infrastructures. Our partnership with Bytes SP highlights the demand for solutions that identify vulnerabilities and also provide an automated solution to patching those vulnerabilities. Bytes SP’s specialist security knowledge means they are able to provide advice and guidance to their customers, ensuring that Secunia solutions are deployed to maximum effect, protecting their customers’ systems.”
