Maidenhead, UK. 31 March 2015 – Sword Active Risk, a supplier of specialist risk management software and services, has appointed Matt Sharpe as its new Vice President of Engineering. In his new role Sharpe will be responsible for the design, engineering and quality of Active Risk Manager (ARM), the company’s risk management software solution used in leading energy, aerospace and infrastructure projects worldwide. The appointment supports Sword Active Risk’s focus on continued improvement in product innovation, design and quality to ensure that it embraces the latest technological advances to meet customers’ needs in a changing workplace. Sharpe has been pivotal to the product development work for the soon to be released version of ARM (8) designed to be multi-browser compatible and run on mobile devices.

Sharpe’s career spans eight years in specialist risk management software development. A graduate in Computer Science from Warwick University, he was appointed as Technical Consultant on joining Sword Active Risk and has since worked as a software developer and lead System Architect for ARM, bringing his enthusiasm and technical knowledge to the team.

Commenting on his new role, Matt Sharpe said; “Sword Active Risk’s focus is on continual improvement to the customer experience, which means that in the development team we have to review our processes and practices to ensure that we deliver the right technology solution to the best possible quality. As a keen technologist I am interested in the major computing trends to make sure we move the product forward, while ensuring that our project management process aligns the end solution with the needs of our customer base.”
