London, England– 4 October, 2016—Imprivata®, the healthcare IT security company, extends its congratulations to all winners and finalists of the recent EHI Awards 2016, held on Thursday, September 29th in London. Imprivata is especially proud that many of the recognized innovators are also customers and advisory board members that have demonstrated tremendous success deploying Imprivata’s solutions.  Now in its tenth year, the EHI awards celebrates the innovations in IT for clinical practice in the UK health IT industry. The event was attended by leading healthcare professionals from across the UK and acknowledged the contribution to the NHS England’s target of a paperless NHS by 2020.

Carina Edwards, Global SVP of Customer Experience at Imprivata said, “We were delighted to see our customers nominated for their successful implementation and adoption of Imprivata technology to enhance patient care and streamline access and security around patient information. These awards are a public recognition of the work that is being carried out by innovative leaders within the UK healthcare industry to transform patient services, safety and care, and to support the great clinical practice that is already in place.”

Amongst Imprivata’s customers, the winner of the excellence in healthcare business analytics award was Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust, for its project Reducing clinical variation through new insights’.  Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust was awarded for best use of technology for sharing information with patients and caregivers and Salford Roy NHS Foundation Trust also won The Digital NHS Trust award. Another successful Imprivata client selected as a finalist for the CCIO award for clinical informatics leadership was St George’s University Hospitals, NHS Foundation Trust. Today, Imprivata’s authentication and access management solutions are used by the vast majority of hospitals in the UK.

Ms. Edwards added, “Our congratulations also to Dr. Masood Nazir, GP and chief clinical information officer at NHS Birmingham CrossCity CCG, for winning the CCIO award for clinical informatics leadership. We have worked closely with Dr. Nazir and his visionary approach leads the way for many other healthcare organisations.”

A record 210 entries were received for the awards this year, with three finalists for each category, selected by a panel of judges formed from leading United Kingdom healthcare professionals in IT and clinical practice. The panel chairman was Charles Gutteridge, former national clinical director of the National Programme for IT, who for the past three years has been chief clinical information officer at Barts Health NHS Trust.

The awards are a precursor to EHI Live 2016, taking place at Birmingham’s NEC on November 1st – 2nd, where technology providers will showcase solutions to executives and directors responsible for IT provision in healthcare. Over 4,000 healthcare professionals are expected to attend the exhibition.
